About Us

The Authors

Kevin Jenkins and Richard Hopkins are both Executive IT Architects for IBM in the UK.  Both have performed the Chief Architect role on a wide variety of projects and programmes over the last ten years, including the successful delivery of national identity card, air traffic control, customer relationship management and credit card account services.

Hundreds of thousands of users and customers use the systems they have delivered everyday.

What drives us
Both Richard and Kevin strongly believe that the high failure rate of large business and IT re-engineering projects is unacceptable - and that the fundamental problems are addressable.  They are also convinced that the IT industry has done little to directly address these problmes, many of which were identified thirty years ago by Fred Brooks in The Mythical Man Month.

The Brownfield Re-engineering approach is based on their observations of and experiences on a number of $100M+ systems integration projects.  It provides a new approach both organisational and technological that can assist with the delivery of elephantine projects.
