History

Brownfield Re-engineering was built as a result of a number of highly successful complex project deliveries which made use of highly innovative Model Driven Architecture techniques to deliver large, highly performant systems quickly with exceptional quality.

The Brownfield approach allowed the integration with other systems to be speeded up and changes made to the system in an organised and consistent way.

IMPORTANT MILE STONES:

2004 - Extensive use of Model Driven Architecture to deliver complex point to point integration capability

2005 - Extended version generates consistent user interface, flow logic and legacy integration.  Brownfield coined in September 2006 by Hopkins at British Computer Society Gala Dinner.

2006 - Further extended version generates most of the artefacts needed to create contents of Enterprise Service Bus to enable many to may integration

2006 to date - Adapted version of Brownfield used to mine legacy systems for business logic

2008 - Brownfield Book published
